Lord I can’t take it! Lord I give up! How many times have you uttered those words! Oh, don’t act like I am the only one! Many times when God turns up the heat in our lives, we feel like he is being unfair. Sometimes we even feel like he putting us through cruel and unusual punishment. But I am here to tell you like Paul told the people in 1 Peter 4:12, “Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you.”
If you are going through a fiery triall right now there is nothing strange about it. God is using it to elevate you to the next level. Pain always comes before promotion. You have to go through the fire but believe when it’s all said and done-YOU ARE COMING OUT GOLD!
So yes God might have turned up the hit a bit and the attacks from the enemy are coming stronger and stronger every day but you must remember God is right there with you through it all. God will never put more on you than you can bare and that is a promise.
The Word tells us in James 1:2, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.” We must consider it joy when God allows us to go through trials. These trials are a part of our process. And we must all go through a process before we can receive the promises God has promised us.
So rejoice, be glad when you are going through trials. God is going to use all the pain, heartaches, setbacks, breakdowns for your good. It is part of your training for your promotion. So 1 Peter 1:6 says, “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while.”
God allows our trials to build our character. God is never worried about our promise but he is always worried about our character. He knows in order for us to keep the promise, our character must be fully developed by him. So like Paul said in Romans 5: 3-4, “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”
So never get discourage, don’t feel defeated and don’t give up, not matter how high God turns up the heat. You have to know that the pain you are feeling right now is only temporary but it will yield a great reward if you don’t give up. James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
Today I encourage you not to give up, don’t throw in the towel. What you are going through has purpose behind it. Trust me I know, I have been there. But I can assure that if you persevere to the end, you will receive the crown!
Today’s Scripture: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
