People often ask me, how do you know? How did you figure that out? Who told you that? And I always say the same thing, I discerned it. Most people look at me like I am crazy, but us Christians know all about discernment.
But let’s break down what discernment it is. Discernment is to understand or know something through the power of God through the Holy Spirit. Discernment is one the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. Discernment comes with the gift of being able to perceive people’s true character and being able to receive hidden wisdom and revelation on spiritual matters and manifestations.

To be able to receive the gift of discernment, we must be operating fully in the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy the Spirit that gives us the revelation and that power comes from God. So you can’t be able to discern if you in operating in the flesh.
Paul tells in 1 Corinthians 2:14, “The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Discernment is a gift for mature Christians and the reason being is because only a mature Christian would know how to react or handle the revelation, wisdom, or information they received from the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 5:14, says “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”
Everyone won’t know how to handle the gift of discernment. So that’s why God does not give it to everyone. That’s why it’s a gift. The spirit of discernment is a powerful tool in God’s Kingdom and not everyone knows how use it properly use it.

Today I encourage you to ask God for the gift of discernment. Now in order to receive this gift, you must be operating fully in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of Discernment is wonderful gift to have and its main benefit is unlimited wisdom and revelation that only comes from God. So when you receive it, get ready to be asked questions like I get all the time. How do you know? Who told you that? And you can simply say, I discerned it!
Today’s Scripture: "I pray that the glorious Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know Christ better."  Ephesians 1:17
