Joy: Part "Fullness of Joy"
Yesterday we learned that Joy is one the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is something that we already posses inside of us. Jesus placed his joy inside of us, so our joy shouldn’t be dependent or circumstances or our feelings. Jesus gives us free joy, full joy. Psalms 4:7 says, “You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.” Psalms 4:7
So how do we obtain this joy? Well, I am glad you asked! We obtain the fullness of joy in the Lord’s presence. By spending intimate time with God through prayer, praise, worship, and reading his Word, we obtain the fullness of joy. Proverbs 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
So get in the Lord’s presence and receive your full Joy!
Another way to receive joy is reading and mediating on God’s Word. Reading, hearing, and mediating on the truth of God’s Word gives us joy. We see this Jeremiah 15:16, where the Word says, “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty.”
Have you ever read God’s Word and his truth ministered to your spirit, your soul and brought a smile to your face. Like David says in Psalms 10:8, "The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living.”
Knowing that God has given us salvation should be another reason why should be filled with joy. Habakkuk 3:18 says, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”
God promises to never leave or forsake us. He is our comfort, our peace, our joy. Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is your Strength.” So know that your strength comes from having the fullness of joy-the fullness of God.
Today I encourage you to enter in the Lord’s presence and receive the fullness of joy. Read and mediate on God’s Word and let his truth fill your heart with joy unspeakable. Remember you have the power to tap into the fullness joy, and let NO ONE STEAL YOUR JOY! BE FULL!!!!
Today’s Scripture: “And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.” 1 John 1:4
