People tell me to give up. It will never come to pass. I am just wasting my time….living in a fantasy land. But I will never give up on what God has promised me. Thought it might seem impossible to some, I know nothing is impossible with God.
So what is it that keeps me holding on, what keeps me believing? Well the answer is quite simple, it is my hope. And not just any hope but my hope in the Lord. Psalm 39:7 says, “And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.” God gives me hope. He is my hope. So I trust him and I believe in his promises.
Hope births faith. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Our hope develops our faith because our faith is based on things we hope for. Paul tells us in Romans 8:24-25, “Hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees. But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”
Though my promises and dreams have not been manifested yet, my hope keeps me in anticipation for their arrival. Hebrews 6:19 says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” My soul, my hope is anchored in the Lord. So now matter what it looks like or feels in the natural, my hope is secured, grounded, and rooted in the Lord.
So we must keep our hope because David tells us in Proverbs 13:2, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.” Sometimes our dreams get delayed. Our promises take years to get manifested but if we lose hope, than our dreams die right along with it.
So never stop hoping no matter how impossible things may seem or look. Because Paul tells us in Romans 5:5, “hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”
Today I encourage you to keep hoping. Keep hoping in the Lord and I promise you he will never let you down. If you lose your hope, then you what do you have to look for. When you allow your hope to die, then you allow your dreams and visions to die right along with it. And hope deferred makes the heart sick.
Today’s Scripture: “But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.” Psalm 71:14
