Stop Beating That Dead Horse

It’s not working, let it go. It’s not working, let go. IT IS NOT WORKING, LET IT GO! That’s the not door, stop knocking. That’s not the door, stop knocking. THAT’S NOT THE DOOR, STOP KNOCKING! I have someone better, move on. I have someone better, move on. I HAVE SOMEONE BETTER, MOVE ON!  Wrong way, change directions. Wrong way, change directions. WRONG WAY, CHANGE DIRECTIONS!
The Holy Spirit is tired of repeating Himself to you. How many times does He have to keep telling you the same things over and over again for you to get it? Aren’t you tired of beating that dead horse because God is surely tired of watching you. You have tried and tried to fix that situation but it has not gotten any better. You keep holding on to that relationship but the other person has let you go and moved on. Understand, not every dry bone can live.
Some people, places, and things in our lives are seasonal. Not everything gets resurrected. Somethings are destined to die. Understand, when old things pass away in our lives all things become new. God never allows us to lose anything without replacing it with something or someone better. If something has recently ended in your life (relationship, job, business, opportunity, assignment etc.) take that as a sign from God that something new better and is about to be birthed.
This is the season of new doors, opportunities, assignments connections, strategies, dreams, visions, ideas, and plans. God wants to do a new thing in your life but you have to let go of the old dead things that are not working. This also includes old mindsets, behaviors, and habits. This is the time to do a spiritual spring cleaning. Get rid of what’s not working to make room for what will! Don’t beat that dead horse anymore! Mourn for, bury it,  then get up and move on! New things are about to be birthed! Thank Him in advance for your new blessings on the way! 
 
Today I encourage you to stop beating that dead horse! Somethings in our life have to die. God is doing a new thing in this season and you are going to miss it if you keep beating that dead horse! Put the stick down, get into your prayer closet and seek God for the new things He has in store for you. And listen to the Holy Spirit! He is tired of repeating Himself! Just let it go!

An Act of Kindness

What if you lost everything in one day? Imagine losing your job, house, and car within a day. What would you do if you lost everything you owned and became homeless suddenly? For James Moss, a single father to one-year old son, Zhi, this became his fate over a month ago.  In hopes of starting a better life for him and his son, James moved from the harsh streets of New York to Denver.
What James thought was going to be a fresh start for him and his son ended up being his worst nightmare. Within 24 hours of him arriving in Denver he found out his housing arrangements fell through. Though he had a job, he had no place to stay. Now most people in this situation would break down and give up but not James. James kept his hope and faith in God. He knew God was going to make a way for him and his son. And because of his faith the very next day God did.

The Word tells us in Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” James and his baby boy Zhi had a great need and God supplied for them. The very next day God divinely connected James with a man that would change his life forever and supply him with his need. Motivational speaker Leon Logothetis was in the middle of filming him video series, Go Be Kind when he met James and his Zhi. Go Be Kind is a video series where Leon travels to different cities across the nation and asks random strangers to share their life stories.  At the end of each encounter with the strangers, Leon extends a helping hand to them to further his mission of spreading love and light to the world. Well his mission that day was to extend a helping to James and his son.
 After briefly meeting with James and his son Zhi on the street, Leon asked James to talk about the importance of being kind to others. During the interview, James revealed to Leon that he and his son were homeless but in spite of their fate he remained hopeful that he would get back on his feet soon. James said, “And I guarantee that in a month’s time, I’ll make anything that I need to make happen, happen. It’s like, you have to be brought down to your humblest point, so you can appreciate other things that are waiting for you.”

When Leon asked James how he was able to remain so humble and hopeful, James emotionally replied,
“It’s two things. This guy here (points to Zhi), he fuels the fire of my joy. And a fusion between meditation and prayer. And knowing that there is a higher power taking you through life experiences in order to mold you into something that you need to be. Or maybe to have this experience maybe to pay the debt to someone else when I get situated. To pay it forward.”
Could you imagine being homeless and having to raise a child by yourself? In one day everything was taken away from James but one thing he never lost was his hope. Even while being down and out himself, James offered some encouraging words to other that were going having a rough time.  
“For anyone out there that feels they want to crumble man, just keep going man. It’s not worth it- don’t let hopelessness consume you!” “I never expected it to be like this, but it’s like this and I’ve had nothing but good help along the way.”

After bravely sharing his story, Leon surprised James by giving him a $1,000 and a week’s stay at a hotel. Overwhelmed with thankfulness, James cried and gave Leon a hug! What an amazing story right?! But God wasn’t finished with James yet!
After the episode aired last week viewer, Kalya Heskett from Kansas, inquired about James and Zhi’s whereabouts and found out him and Zhi were living in a homeless shelter. Moved by compassion,  Kayla created a GoFundMe page to further assist James with getting back on his feet. She started the account last week the goal of only raising $20,000 but as of today the page has raised over $50,000! More than double the initial goal!

Like Kalya, James’ story has truly inspired me. After donating last night, I asked God what else I could do to help and He prompted me to write this blog post to further share James’ story.  Though there are millions of homeless people in the world, there is something about James’ story that deeply touched me. Despite being homeless, James kept his faith, hope, trust, and most importantly belief in God. His faith never wavered. Like Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:12, James learned this principle, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”
As an ambassador of Christ, I share James’ testimony with you in hopes that you would donate to his GodFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/helpingdenverjames. No amount is too small! James is currently working but him and his son are still homeless. So I pray that God touches your heart to donate. The Word tells us in Proverbs 19:17, “If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD--and he will repay you!”

Prayer Warrior Arise

Prayer warriors it’s time for you to arise. God is calling forth His intercessors. This morning when I woke up I felt a deep aching and heaviness in my heart. Immediately I knew that was God’s placing a burden on me to pray for someone. When I wake up with a heavy heart I know it’s time to pray. Someone needs me to intercede on their behalf.
On Tuesday I went to me see the movie “War Room” and one of the characters told another character it’s time for the prayer warrior in you to arise.  The Word tells us in Galatians 6:2, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” It’s time for you to become the self-sacrificing warrior and intercessor that God has destined for you to be and pour out your heart for others in prayer.

There are so many people in desperate need of your payers. This morning when I woke up God placed so many people in my heart and soon as I finish my post I am going to pray for them. It’s time to start stop praying self-prayers; prayers only for you and your family. It’s time to start praying for others. It’s time to start praying for the lost. It’s time for to start for people you don’t even know.
Isaiah 59:16 says, “And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor.” No more will God look out and see no more intercessors because in Jesus name I call forth all the prayer warriors who are reading this post to arise. Today I pray that God places burdens on your heart for others.

Today I encourage the prayer warrior in you to arise. Arise my brothers and sisters in Christ. Arise and become the intercessor that God is looking for. Fulfill the law of Christ and pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Someone needs you to pray for them today. Warrior arise!
Today’s Scripture: “O Jerusalem, I have set intercessors on your walls who shall cry to God all day and all night for the fulfillment of his promises.” Isaiah 62:6

War Room: My Insights

On yesterday I went and saw the movie “War Room” and it changed my life! If you haven’t seen the movie yet I urge you to go see it as soon as you can. The Holy Spirit led me to go see it because in this season of my life God is trying to reawaken the prayer warrior in me.
I am not going to give away the plot of the movie for those who haven’t seen it but I will say it will make you cry! I must have cried five times during the movie and I am not talking but tears just rolling. Oh no, I am talking about that ugly cry! Though I will not give away the movie, I will give my insights on the movie…….

How often do you pray? And when you pray do you pray the Word? If you are married or in a relationship do you pray for your spouse or significant other?  If I had to sum up the movie it would be PRAYER! The movie will encourage, inspire, and motivate you to pray! It will also inspire you to make a prayer closet!
Secondly, it will encourage you to fight! And I am not talking about physically fighting! No my brothers and sisters in Christ fighting in prayer! It’s time for us to stop letting the enemy come in and  steal, kill, and destroy our marriages, homes, children, jobs, and churches. We must start fighting him back to restore and get what rightfully belongs to us.

Next it will make you recognize who the real enemy is. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”  Satan is the real enemy not your spouse, children, or mean boss. It’s the evil spirits in them that you are fighting against. You have to rebuke, bind, and call those spirits out.
Last and most important, it will teach you prayer not only changes what you are prayer for it changes you! Indeed, the effective prayer of a righteous man or woman can accomplish much but one of the greatest things it accomplishes is a change in the person that is praying. Prayer is how we communicate with God. The more you pray the more you develop the qualities of God in your thinking, words, and actions!
Brothers and sisters it’s time to get in your prayer closet and start praying!!!!! I love you and I urge you to go see the movie!

Leave It Behind

Today is the last day of the month. Tomorrow starts a brand new month and a brand new opportunity for you to start fresh and leave the past behind. Today you need to purge yourself of all the negative thoughts, habits, and people you have been carrying around. God is about to do a new thing in your life but you have to get rid of the old first.
And one of the first things you need to get rid of is that negative mindset. We all know as a man think so is he so. You cannot have a positive life with a negative mind. Be careful what you think because what you think is what you will speak. Today and every day make it priority to renew your mind by the Word of God in the morning. Do while it you are still in the bed. Start your day with positive thoughts and keep them going throughout the day.

Next you need to break bad habits. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” What is that bad habit or sin that keeps you from fulling reaching your full potential in God? You know what it is. Today make up in your mind to seek God for deliverance from it. It’s time to be free!
Last and most important, it’s time to let some people go. Everybody is your life is not meant to stay. Some people we meet along the way are just seasonal and when their season is up we have to let them go. As the saying goes some people can stay in your heart but not in your life. Get rid of the old so you can make room for the new!

Today I encourage you to take assessment of your life. Today is the last day of the month and the last day you need to be dealing with some of things you are dealing with. Negative mindsets, behaviors, and people need to go! Tomorrow is a brand new month! Time for a fresh start!

Thank you for sharing. I joined the conference call last night and heard you mention your blog. This message is definitely God ordained. The reason why I know this is because I was at a leadership conference a few weeks ago and the Speaker Blessed me with a book. The book talked about The Lords Prayer.
